Creatine “weight gain” isn’t the same thing as gaining fat.
This is one of the biggest reasons women hesitate to try creatine.
Creatine can increase the amount of water stored inside your muscles, particularly when you first start taking it. That may cause a small increase on the scale.
But that isn’t body fat.
Much of that water is stored inside the muscle itself — which is very different from simply feeling bloated or “puffy.”
If your goal is to get stronger and support your training, a small change on the scale shouldn’t automatically be viewed as a bad thing.
